The writer has to take into account the public speaking abilities of their client in addition to the composition of the likely audience, and the potential difficulties arising from exterior factors such as the venue or PA system.

The speech, whilst conveying a key message, has to take into account the speakers personality, otherwise it will not sound convincing. It also has to grab the audiences attention and cause that all important feedback where the speaker gains confidence from the interest displayed by the listener.
